Modern business is all about networking, but how does shaking hands turn into growth and opportunities that will affect your business positively. All business need networking, small business can not survive without networking. Your connections and networking will help you to expand your business. 

Networking is very common to this present day generation but it is not new to the business scene. It has been happening in various forms in the real world. networking can simply be referred to as building simple mutually beneficial relationships. Networking is about understanding from the beginning, that it is about 'what i can do for you' as much as it is about ' what you can do for me'.  When you look at property agents, their job is simply networking with one another in a way that they build mutual trust, sharing knowledge, experiences and resources to help grow their businesses by either referring or doing business directly with each other. Effective business networking is the linking together of individuals who, through trust and relationship building, become walking, talking advertisement for one another.  

You have to strike a balance between two extremes, to avoid shoving your business cards into peoples pockets or trying too hard to sell. Networking opens real business opportunity, just like iron sharpens iron. Good networking will put you in the driving seat of you business and provides entrepreneurs with an opportunity to be sharpened intellectually by other entrepreneurs. The sole purpose of business networking is to increase business awareness and revenue.

Joining the Right Network

Joining a regional , national or international business association will give you quick access to a ready built network. If you are a University graduate , join the alumni network of your University or College is a great place to get started. Do what you need to keep the ball rolling by calling, emailing , sending text messages and visiting if possible.

It is important you know that networking is a skill and can be mastered. The more you network, the better you become at it.
