Premier League champions Manchester United will start the season only third favourites for the title behind Chelsea and Manchester City, according to bookmakers. David Moyes’ team are not getting a lot of love either – with no one predicting United can retain the crown.
Is it harsh that last season’s runaway champions have been written off before the campaign is even underway, or have the chasing pack caught up, and even overtaken, the Red Devils?
United will have to deal with the absence of Sir Alex Ferguson and the club has so far failed to make a single marquee signing – the only additions to the squad have been youngsters Wilfried Zaha, signed in January but loaned back to Crystal Palace, and Guillermo Varela.
